38 weeks! Only 2 to go!

Wow! 38 weeks today! But we are ready for her to come at anytime now! A friend of ours just had their baby last week (a little early - she was due the day after me) and he is so tiny and so cute! I am kinda jealous now, I really want to meet my little girl! But if she needs to cook more thats fine, I am just hoping she doesn't get too big!

Its been crazy hot in Seattle this week - over 100 degrees! Thankfully we got AC installed in June, so we are feeling pretty good at home. Thanks again Uncle Floyd and Dad!!! I honestly would be going crazy if we didn't have the AC, and I would definitely be living in the basement (which would be hot, but much cooler than upstairs).

Today is my last day at work! I pretty much have my personal to-do list done, just a few minor projects to finish up, which I am hoping I can get done this week! Then I guess I should start walking like mad to try and get her to budge!!

Last ultrasound

We had our last ultrasound of this pregnancy yesterday at 37 weeks to check the baby's growth. After a pretty quick ultrasound (the tech was very efficient and not very personable), they are guesstimating that she is now 7 lbs. 6 ozs!! So if she stays in there for a few more weeks, she will be over 8 lbs!! I am thinking its totally fine if she wants to make her appearance next week or the first week of August!! We will see! Everything looked great!! Now its just time for her to arrive!!!

Here is the pic from the ultrasound. Yes its really really bad! You can kind of see the shadow of one eye and her nose, if you turn your head to the left side. She is head down and her hand was in front of her face so it was hard to get a good view! Makes it that much more exciting to get to meet her in person!!!

Maternity photo shoot

We had a maternity photo shoot last night to preserve the memories of being pregnant with our first child. At first I didn't think I wanted maternity pictures, but now I am so glad we did it. I know I will really appreciate them in the years to come.

They were taken by a really sweet woman - Sherri Hubel - who is trying to get started in photography. This was her first maternity shoot, she offered to take the pictures for us for free, so she can learn and get experience. I think she is going to do great!

Here is a sneak peak of one of them (no retouching yet either). I can't wait to see the rest of them!!

Getting so close!

So today we are 1 day away from 37 weeks and will actually get to see our baby girl again tomorrow on ultrasound! I can't believe how close we are to actually getting to meet her in person. My doctor says that I am progressing well and that I will probably not make it to an induction (around my due date) - but then again who knows. But the possibility of her coming early is actually exciting!

I have been reading other blog posts today from sites that I have been reading throughout my pregnancy - www.dooce.com (who had her baby in June) and www.hisboyscanswim.com (who are expecting any day now) - and read some lovely posts about their husbands and how great they have been with the pregnancies/babies!

Just makes me think about how wonderful Brad is and what an awesome father he is going to be. He may not be a big talker or really express his emotions all the time, but I know he cares deeply for me and our little girl. More through his actions and caring gestures vs. words. The way he is working with and training Apollo to be a fabulous big brother - and how he has already installed Olive's car seat into our cars and is anxious about packing our bags. Especially now that she might just decide to come early!

Oh man the pregnancy hormones are strong today, I am bawling!

Anyway, I am not sure how many people follow our blog, but its definitely been therapeutic for me and has allowed me to share and brag about my little girl and possibly get some anxiety out! So thanks for letting me share.

Only 5 weeks to go!

Wow - 35 weeks today! Only 5 weeks or less before Olive makes her debut!!

We are almost ready - still waiting on a few items to arrive but for the most part we have everything we need. We are fully stocked (for at least a month) with diapers and wipes. Baby clothes are washed and folded in the drawers and closet. Car seat installed in Brad's truck, need to install it in my car (hopefully next week). We still need to pack our hospital bags - which Brad is anxious to do - we will probably get that done by this weekend.

The house still needs to be cleaned and decluttered (just some areas), and the guest room/bath room needs to be prepped for Mom's stay. But all in all, I think we are good shape and still have some time (hopefully). I am totally fine if she wants to come early but really want her to wait until August - being an August baby myself!

One more ultrasound scheduled for the 23rd - curious to see how big she is then! And going to the doctor's twice a week now for non-stress tests and OB visits. Fun stuff!!

Stay tuned!!
