Swimming in a real pool!

We hadn't yet taken Olive to a real pool so we used our little vacay as an excuse to enjoy some pool time. We had a little floaty for Olive which she seemed to like - I think it made her feel more secure. The pool was heated but it was still chilly so Daddy wrapped her up in a wet towel that we kept warming up with warm water from the shower. She definitely had tons of fun! We see a summer filled with trips to the pool and maybe even some swim lessons!

Leavenworth - Day 1

Well we actually got there Friday night so I guess this would be our first day and a little bit! We didn't get to the hotel until almost 8pm, so it took quite a while for Olive to settle down and go to sleep - I think it was around 10:45p when she finally gave it up! She even tried snuggling with me but that really didn't work.

The next morning we got up early and had breakfast at the hotel before heading out to explore the town. We were out and about before any of the shops opened so we walked up and down a few times. After we had enough of the shops (and Olive got a new Panda bear) we headed to a park to have our picnic lunch we brought. Olive and Brad ran around with the soccer ball and got their play on before we headed back to the hotel to "rest".

The nap in the hotel room wasn't happening so we ended up taking a drive and Olive nodded off for about 45 minutes (better than nothing), then we headed back to the hotel to check out the pool! Olive's first time in a real pool! Stay tuned for a more indepth post on that! Needless to say she had a blast!

Then back to town for dinner! It was a fun and full day and thankfully bedtime went a little better - I think we were actually all asleep by 8:30pm! Yeah I know such party animals!!
Stay tuned for Day 2.

Not into sleeping

Willkommen to Leavenworth!

The Park, Eka and baby Ducks!

We met Daljit and Eka at Pine Lake Park this morning and got a treat with Baby Ducks! Thankfully I put a few hotdog buns in my bag just in case. They were right by the shore so we didn't have to go too far onto the docks - the girls enjoyed looking at the ducks. So cute!!
We also played on the equipment and got to swing - fun morning (even if it was chilly)!!

Father's Day came early

Father's Day came a little early this year for Brad!

We are heading out of town this weekend to check out Leavenworth, WA - just a little family getaway - and we got him a Nook for Father's Day, so I wanted him to have it early so he can work out all the bugs and have it ready to go for the weekend. Good thing too, cus it looks like it doesn't like our router because it wouldn't connect to wifi! Olive had fun helping him open his gift! She is getting pretty darn good at the unwrapping part!

Happy Father's Day Brad! We will celebrate again of course on the actual day!
We Love you SOOOOOO Much!!

Wow he even looks surprised!

22 Months Old!

I can hardly believe Olive will be 2 in 2 short months!! She is one busy girl!

She is talking all the time and can repeat just about everything you say, so better watch what we say right! I am still amazed that I can actually have little conversations with her. We don't understand everything she says but its pretty close!

She loves kittys, playing with rocks outside (or doing anything outside and getting dirty), Curious George, Cat in the Hat, chocolate, crunchy foods, running around with Daddy and watching Daddy fly the helicopter (a little remote control toy helicopter).

She has the sweetest personality and seems to be kind and caring (she is a pretty good sharer) along side her rambunciousness. She is starting to understand that she has a baby brother on the way - and we are excited to see their relationship.

She is one amazing kid and growing up so fast!

1st Bike Ride with Daddy

We have been wanting to get a kid bike seat for the back of Brad's bike for a while now but just haven't bucked up for one - well today our neighbor offered ours hers that they don't use anymore!! Score!! Thank you Tammy!!!!

Brad took it off of Tammy's bike and got it onto his and had to test it out with Olive after her nap! And yes she LOVED it!! This summer will be fun for Olive and Daddy on the bike!

So serious and ready to ride!

Off on an adventure!

Yeah! More bike Daddy!

Garage Sale weekend

Every year our neighborhood and the surrounding neighborhoods have a garage sale weekend (well Fri and Sat) - we have put stuff out the last few year and this year we had a few things we wanted to part with had hoped to make a little cash! Mostly it was the rest of Olive's baby girl clothes that didn't go home with Kate - but oddly I only sold like 3 things! Crazy! We sold some of the other stuff and have a nice little profit - better than nothing right!
My Mom came up to help out (Thank you Nana!!) which Olive loved having Nana to chase after her and play with her! Two whole days spent outside - what a treat! It wasn't really sunny, but at least it didn't rain!

Playing in the rocks - yes her favorite thing to do outside

Decorating golf balls with pricing stickers

Our garage sale finds!! The picnic table was FREE!! The Little Tikes car was new in the box for about half of retail (I was sooo excited to find it!) - but of course when Brad opened it up to put it together its missing a crucial piece! Ugh!! We are hoping Little Tikes is a good as Fisher Price in sending a replacement part - cus it is totally the manufacturers fault! All the pieces were shrink wrapped for goodness sake!

Project Big Girl Room - Fun Details!

Ok finally the fun details of Olive's new Big Girl Room! Sorry this took so long to post - Blogger likes to poop out on me whenever I really want to post - so frustrating!! Might have to look into wordpress!
Anyway here are some fun pics of some of the details in the room! Enjoy!

Cute pink Closet

Book sling I made with the same fabric as the curtains

Updated lamp - I just glued big fake Gerber daisies to one of the lamps from her baby room.

Monkey #1 over the closet

Birdie and nest with baby and eggs - this is one of Olive's favorites!

Monkey #2 chasing butterflies over her dresser/mirror

Kitty peeking through the flowers - another of Olive's favorites

Name art! Found these cool pictures at the Issaquah Farmer's Market (I can't remember who the photographer is) but they are everyday objects that look like letters - too cute!

Project Big Girl Room - 99% complete

Olive's Big Girl room is sooooo close to being 100% complete! There are only a few things left to do - the major ones being 1) hang the blinds (currently on order) and 2) move her chandelier from her baby room after baby brother's is installed (currently on order). I also want to get a piece of art for the blank space above her tall dresser, Brad and I are still negotiating that one. Then a few minor things - add some hooks to the wall/closet and finish up the door jam and its DONE! Oh and we do have to install a 2nd bed rail - the first one is installed already - but you don't see it in the pics because it is hiding under the mattress - too cool!

We are planning on moving her to actually sleeping in the room (instead of just playing in there) by the end of the month. I have some "Big Bed" books coming from Amazon tomorrow that we will start reading and we are thinking about coverting her crib to a toddler bed for the interim to get her used to not having 4 walls of bars! I think she will do fine, but Brad is nervous about her getting out.

But yeah the room is almost done! Below are pics of the entire room - I will post some more detailed ones as well so you can see the little details up close. I am kinda proud of myself, I did all the decorative painting myself - it was a long week of working on it any chance I could - but I love how it turned out. Olive loves all the critters on the walls and often gives the kitty a kiss! She even started talking about one of the monkeys when it was just a pencil sketch!!

Now to get started on baby boy's projects and get his room painted, etc when we get Olive moved out! Lots of work, but I love it!!

Playdate at the Wagele's

We went over to the Wagele's on Sunday for a playdate and yummy lunch! They live right by a park so we spent most of the morning running and around and playing on the equipment, it was a beautiful morning! Little Ben is turbo charged and ran around there so much his little face was all red and flushed, but he definitely looked like he was having a good time.

Boys are definitely different than girls - I guess I need to mentally prepare myself! Olive had a great time too of course, running around plenty but also stopping to pick flowers and play in the dirt. She also was pretty brave on the playground equipment.

After all the play, we went back to the house and had a yummy lunch and then got to play a little more before heading home for a nap. It was a super fun morning and always great to see the Wagele's!! Thanks Leann, Andy and Ben for a fun playdate!!

My Ben, you are getting so handsome!
